The new Emergency facility provides space, state-of-the-art medical equipment and staffing resources to meet current and future medical needs of the Nicola Valley residents and visitors.

Funding for these health-related services comes primarily from long-term investment of donations given by the local community, as well as specifically focused campaigns such as the recent Emergency Facility upgrade. All funds donated to the Foundation go directly to local health-care. The Foundation is a registered charitable organization, and receipts are issued for tax purposes.

 



The Berta Fraser Centre at Gillis House

The Berta Fraser Centre provides a variety of services and activities to seniors no longer able to entirely care for themselves.

Activities include:

  • games
  • crafts
  • entertainment
  • exercises
  • sing alongs and
  • outings


Seniors are also able to take advantage of the bathing facilities and support services in Gillis House.
 
The Berta Fraser Centre also provides respite for care givers during daytime hours.

Merritt & District Hospice Society provides trained volunteers who offer compassionate support and companionship to meet the needs of those individuals facing death and their families and support to those who are grieving.
