Funding for these health care projects comes primarily from long-term investment of donations given by the local community, as well as focused campaigns such as the Emergency Department Renovation and Expansion. All funds donated to the Nicola Valley Health Care Endowment Foundation go directly to local health care. The NVHCEF is a registered charitable organization, find out more here.
A donation of $38,000 went towards the purchase of food carts that have been in use at the Gillis House since the middle of 2024. We were glad to be able to continue our support of this care facility.
For use in the Nicola Valley Hospital & Health Centre, the foundation donated a total of $130,279 for a mobile ultrasound unit ($73,000) and a digital detector for the mobile x-ray equipment ($57,279). An additional, smaller detector plate is on order and will be in use as soon as available in early 2025.
Thank you for your support, your donation have made this possible and we look forward to continuing the work in 2025.
Completed in 2019, the new expanded Emergency Department provides space, state-of-the-art medical equipment and staffing resources to meet current and future medical needs of the Nicola Valley residents and visitors.
The NVHCEF works continually to fund a better tomorrow for the Nicola Valley, with a mobile ultrasound having been added to the ER and the purchase of mobile Xray equipment in progress.
